Futility

I

Waiting for the expected knock in vain
Fiery Phoebus rests
In bloodshed.
Night seeks the moon, alone and afraid.
Smile freezes in lines of pain,
Waiting for the expected knock in vain.

II

Tumultuous trumpets rent the  waiting heart,
Achilles falls ……. with a single dart.
Saturated clouds seek merger with the sea,
To be one  with the wind across the lea.
Drops dry on the expectation of rain,
Waiting for the expected knock in vain.

III

A thirst swelled drop engulfs an ocean,
Etchings of Illyria …… thirst’s contradiction.
A vacuum conquers ….. there’s a sense of doom,
Even there blows thirst…a simoom.
Waiting is eternal,
transient the meeting
Eloquent eyes,
Overflow with greeting.
Hopes ….. dreams …… strands of life’s snare.
Yearning and expectation usually decline in despair.
