Hollow Howls

Dr. O. P. Arora

That highest peak
I must reach…

Impossible.
That height, no one
not even the greatest, has scaled
even the lower one
they have invariably failed…

Me
you don’t know
either it would bow
or decimated, forever go…
All the heights
I have smashed
only a few moments
it would be dusted and dashed…

A horrible howl
incredible growl
as if the sky did scowl…
something celestial
alien to the earth’s bowel…
Dazed, scared, his horrified balls
at the sky gaped…
Trembling, top to toe
soaked in sweat
fear on his face engraved…
His voice in a muzzle
he staggered and sank
in the dirty puddle…
