Late Kumkum Rawat

(These poems are precious parting notes of the poet after her “Eternal departure”. They are organized by her husband Mr. Yogesh Rawat and finalized in the present form by her friend Dr. Beena Agarwal.)

Shooting Star

It is aweful
to see a shooting star
sudden disappearance
from light to dark
Hey! Where it’s gone
Nowhere to be seen
Mysterious black
far off gleam.

Much talked of
soon forgotten
Hesitantly comes out of
dead and rotten
A new life has emerged
with fresh glow of a star
Music of birth is sung by
Chirping birds and blooming flower

Up goes the old
shattered and fed up
Twinkle and smile
in the blue canvas above
They are the friends
Our loved one’s
Departed souls
Now maintaining distance.
