Late Kumkum Rawat

(These poems are precious parting notes of the poet after her “Eternal departure”. They are organized by her husband Mr. Yogesh Rawat and finalized in the present form by her friend Dr. Beena Agarwal.)

Futile Cobwebs of Life

My shyness has gradually
made me stiff like dead
It has woven cobweb around me
I hid myself unwillingly in the net.

The more I tried to come out
The more I find entangled
If help comes from other side
I feel embezzled.

Like a cocoon I struggled hard
To come out of shell
to sing with joy and make
Life free of hassle.

Time removed all cobwebs
around me and allowed
me to breath in free air
free flow of emotions
for all who care

Nothing could amaze me
nothing could surprise
I trust you Almighty
For thou are always fair and wise

Let the success come by itself
I am not in a hurry
Fear may not eat me up
Give no place to worry.

I have tested the nectar
And swallowed the poison
you endowed me with divine eyes
which can look beyond the horizon.

I pray to God to hold my soul
Disperse the clouds of alloy
And make one pure gold.

Bless me with words
bless me with thoughts
I will create a new world
where things never rot.
