The Healing Touch

Late at night you crept into my heart,
Deftly you stitched up a wound
And poured your love over it.
You glided up to my eyes
And the tears turned into smiles.
Inside my head, the throbbing aches
Were transformed into rhythm.

When dawn opened my heavy eyes
I scanned my heart, eyes and head.
Why do you disappear heedlessly
When reality turns dream-like?
If I suffer and writhe again
Will you cradle me in your arms?
